Nowhere near Friday Five…

Neat and Tidy

1. How neat are the clothes you wear? Do you iron? Fold them promptly? Pull them out of the dirty laundry?

Extremely neat. I think it’s a cultural thing. I’m going to just say it b/c I believe it: Black children can’t go out looking like ragamuffins b/c judgement is more likely to be passed on them. That’s the truth. It’s also seen as a reflection on the parents if the kiddos are untidy. My clothes must be pristine and ironed. The children’s too. I hang dry just about everything and what doesn’t get hung up in the closet afterwards isn’t really worthy of ironing (playclothes, undies, PJs).

2. How do you make your bed? Hospital corners? All over the floor? Or somewhere in between?

Never make the bed. Pointless. Someone is usually in it as different points during the day.

3. Do you leave dirty dishes in your dishwasher? In the sink? On the counters? In other rooms?

No b/c the kids usually just take things out of the dishwasher. Wouldn’t want them eating off a spoon with dried milk. Blech. Try not to leave dishes in other rooms b/c don’t want the dog licking plates, haha.

4. Are your floors clean enough to eat off of or is there an old science experiment growing in the corner?

Right now? No. Once I mop though, maybe. I hate mops. Sponges too. Nasty things that I feel can never be truly cleaned.(I just switched from the hand and knee technique b/c of my back.) Definitely nothing growing though, yick.

5. How clean is the outside of your car? How about the inside? Is there junk in your trunk?

Car is spotless outside. DH is pretty fanatical about keeping it clean. The floors are a little messy, but DH will probably make me clean it up soon *grumble grumble*. Junk in the trunk? Definitely.
