I do have other children…

pumpkin patch 2009
This photo was taken right before Robin threw up as we were leaving the farm and we realized by day’s end it was the flu. This photo also marks my first outing with the kids and ILs sans L! It was actually a pretty fun day.

polar express party
I love Border’s and the kids’ events they have on the weekend. This was a Polar Express PJ party, but get this…the story was a book on tape! The woman doing the reading read about 3 other holiday books, but we then listened to Liam Neeson read The Polar Express. Huh?

I can’t have a baby yet because…

  • I haven’t gotten a pedicure yet.
  • I need an eyebrow wax badly.
  • I haven’t picked up any labor supplies. Like castor oil (not to drink) and Jolly Rancher lollipops. You know, The Important Stuff.
  • The car seat hasn’t arrived.
  • I still have presents to buy and wrap.
  • I’ve only knit one of a pair of booties for her to wear home.
  • None of the dates I’d like her to be born on because I’m weird about numbers have come yet.
  • Parents Night Out is Friday and I really want to see An Education. And Coco Before Chanel.

The Fifth…

Yesterday was filled with the usual. Barbecue, lemonade, music, fireworks. I think it was the first time Bebe had seen fireworks that he could remember. I tried roasting corn for the first time…

Roasted

Well, the kids said it was good. They pretty much think anything I do is fabulous though. Speaking of which, I am being beckoned for art time. Happy Sunday!

‘Tis the season to be jolly…

That’s what I’m going to tell myself over, and over, and over again the next few days. Happy Thanksgiving.

Jazz for Halloween

Cool music for cool cats (and dogs, and skeletons, and fairies…).

And the history of Holidays, if you’re into that kind of thing (I am).

Happy Easter!

easter 08
Sorry for the icky photo of a photo. Did you know that this is the earliest Easter anyone living will ever see? The next Easter Sunday this early will be in 2228! Cool, eh?

Celebrate love every day.

Celebrate love everyday.

Oh! ZB has a valentine! He asked a little girl in his class to be his valentine, and she said yes. *sniff*

Gearing up for New Year’s

So I’m gearing up for the new year by trying to get the house in top shape. I’m a little superstitious when it comes to the new year and follow the bit that says how you ring in the new year is how you’ll spend the rest of the year. I’m trying to start it with a clean house, no dirty laundry…oh, and my family, haha. We’ll see how that works out. ;-)

The kids are so ready for school to start. Every day, Girlie asks if today is the day, and ZB keeps asking why the break is so long. We’ve done a couple of fun things: went to the cool park today, library as usual, and they got an easel as a belated gift, so they’ve been “arting” up a storm (Girlie got a painter’s kit with tubes of acrylics, watercolors, etc). They’re a little disappointed that they no longer have a “daily activity“, so I may just use that idea year round. About half the day I love having them home and have homeschooling fantasies in which I also bake bread and live on a farm, heh. The other half, I am whining right along with them for the winter break to be over, lol. Well, it will be over soon enough and I’ll go back to fantasizing about homeschool while they trip over their tongues and call me Mrs. Mommy, blending the way they address me and their teachers.
