9 days…
The postpartum recovery period is always hardest for me, physically. The baby is doing great and we are so happy to have her! But, I feel like I got hit by a bus. Part of it is that I have a hard time resting. I can’t help but think about all the things I could be doing! And so I overdo it, and land myself back in bed for a day or two. This time around, I have had a set of physical issues I hadn’t dealt with before including a pinched nerve in one leg. Then there are the usual breastfeeding issues that make me wince and cry. And hating how I look in clothes, which makes me cry, etc, etc. I just have to let go. That’s it. I just have to force myself to relax, and let everyone pamper me, and for crying out loud, sit down. Easier said than done. And now…baby pic!

Oh Mama, stay in bed with that sweet little baby and rest, rest, rest! In the past have always gotten right back into the game only to regret it months later. Your adrenal glands need time to go back to normal. There is no one in your family who needs you more right now than that beautiful little one… her survival literally depends on it. Take this time to enjoy your babymoon time… it truly is so very short lived. I am wishing peace and rest for you.

Ah, don’t we need the days of communal families and friends, where they came over and cleaned, cooked, took the other babes out to play?! I think that is how it’s meant to be for humans, for the women and men in the tribe to take care of one another.
I know that doesn’t help you out now, but I do hope that everything starts to fall in line for you one step at a time.
