Sneak peek…

Boys gift

Booties

A friend (and reader) is pregnant with her third son and so I’m sending a little gift for her boys. These booties* were so easy to knit! They were knit flat and then seamed which I don’t mind since my projects are always small and I don’t like DPNs.  I made the pair while having an Alias marathon with DH over the weekend. For the group of brothers, I got this book which I think is just the perfect gift for a family expecting their third.

Told you I was a delicate flower!

Wait…are lilies delicate? I am so not a gardener though my Mexican Heather is doing well. The begonia? Notsomuch.

I am a

What Flower
Are You?

“Your artistic expression tends to show up in flamboyant bursts. When you are feeling creative, it consumes your every thought and action. But just as quickly as the muse shows up, it leaves you and you are back to your relatively normal self.”

Pretty true. I don’t think I’ve touched that quilt top since the day I made it besides to move it out of the way!

After you read Book 7…

Read this interview with J.K. Rowling.

Not spending much time online lately. Especially if the kids get near me looking like this:

The boss(es)

Yea, I don’t mess with them.

I laughed, I cried, I stayed up till midnight.

I finished HP last night. Took a couple hours but the best part is that DH is just as into it as I am so I had someone to talk about it with right away! :-D

Yay…boo!

Yay: This morning, I got up early enough to make breakfast, lay out the kids’ clothes and putz around on the internet without any um, “helpers”.

Boo: We got to the park at 9:30 and by 10 we were ready to go due to the heat.

Yay: My aunt wants to sell some of my bags in her salon!

Boo: She wants me to make clutches and more trendy bags which I could do, but don’t particularly want to. This is what happens when you start taking custom orders, etc. Sewing is my hobby, I don’t want to make it a business.

Yay: I finally got my husband to go through a bunch of clothing he no longer wears and now I have more storage space!

Boo: Actually, no downside here. Clutter be gone!

Have a great day!

WIP: Doll Quilt…

Quilt top…rip!

OK, I have no idea what I’m doing. I flipped through a quilting “how to” book but got confused and closed it. I learn better by doing anyway, heh. I did a little math, crossed my fingers and voila: a quilt top the actual size I wanted it to be. Of course I now realize there is no way I could ever make a full sized quilt for an actual bed, so scratch that idea I had about making one for Girlie! So yea, this will soon (I hope) become the quilt for the doll bed that’s part of Girlie’s birthday gift. She kept asking what it was, so I guess she likes what she sees so far. I thought she might. :-)

Thanks…

for the birthday wishes. ZB says thanks as well while he looks up from his Nintendo DS (a gift from his grandparents). Other cool gifts…

crown

A new felt birthday crown a la soulemama made by yours truly. I love the little embroidered jewel. I really enjoy simple handwork like that. In his hand, one of the (four!) new remote control cars also from his grandparents. Those of you who’ve been reading for a long time will not be surprised to learn that they overdid it with the presents. As of last year, I’m ok with it. We had a blast driving the cars around this afternoon after an awesome birthday dinner.

Sparkly skater

I actually bought two skateboards, one was for Girlie. Don’t you love her getup? A wonky mama made dress, a batik print tee and glittery ballet flats.

Grrrlie

Did I mention the dress was on backwards? :-P And b/c I just know someone will look at the pic and tsk, tsk, her helmet was on properly while she was riding, I promise. :-)

Seven…

Seven.
It’s ZB’s 7th birthday. Here he is out front this morning taking a break from learning to ride his new bike (no training wheels!) and skateboard. Happy Birthday to the one that made me a mother.

break

And Happy 5th Birthday to Eboy! I know it’ll be an awesome one!
