What Your Soul Really Looks Like
You are a warm hearted and open minded person. It’s easy for you to forgive and forget. You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but you’re head is in the clouds.

You believe that people see you as larger than life and important. While this is true, they also think you’re a bit full of yourself.

Your near future is calm, relaxing, and pretty much what you want. And it’s something you’ve been anticipating for a while now.

For you, love is all about caring and comfort. You couldn’t fall in love with someone you didn’t trust.

Inside the Room of Your Soul

Your Personality is Somewhat Common (ISFJ)
Your personality type is stubborn, conservative, trustworthy, and caring.About 13% of all people have your personality, including 18% of all women and 7% of all men
You are Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging.

How Rare Is Your Personality?

You Are a Marble Cake
Eclectic, inventive, and peaceful.
You are never willing to accept what’s “normal.” You live to push the envelope.
You find it hard to make up your mind. You prefer to have everything you want, right away!

What Kind of Cake Are You?

You Are An Attention Seeker
You’re only human, so you can’t help but want a little attention every now and then.
You love the spotlight, but only when it’s well deserved. You’d hate to be known for the wrong thing.
And you also don’t mind sharing the spotlight. You can easily give someone else credit or a complement.
You know there’s enough attention to go around, and it makes you happy when your friends shine.
You come across as: Friendly and interesting

People may wrongly think you’re: A little more modest than you actually are!

Are You An Attention Whore?

You Are Scissors
Sharp and brilliant, you can solve almost any problem with that big brain of yours.
People fear your cutting comments - and your wit is famous for being both funny and cruel.
Deep down, you tend to be in the middle of an emotional storm. Your own complexity disturbs you.
You are too smart for your own good. Slow down a little - or you’re likely to hurt yourself.
You can cut a paper person down to pieces.

The only person who can ruin you is a rock person.

When you fight: You find your enemy’s weak point and exploit it.

If someone makes you mad: You’ll do everything you can to destroy their life

Are You Rock, Paper, or Scissors?

delightful…I’d like to think ZB’s party was, but Reesie is more equipped to give an answer!

ZB, Tristan and some faceless buddies. His birthday is actually about 3 weeks away, but my mom wanted to be here for his party. It was the first I’ve ever thrown for him.

DH and T…BFF, lol. He’ll be pleased to see himself here. He says he never makes the blog, heh. And I tell him again…if you want someone to talk about you all the time, write your own damn blog.

Sports themed party? How did you guess?!

I’m smiling because it’s over. I don’t do well as a hostess.

dress…I bought three during the time my mom was here, but only one was a keeper. I also bought a cute skirt and top that I’ve already worn twice.

date…DH and I saw Ocean’s 13. I wanted to see Knocked Up too, but we didn’t have a chance.

decorating…Finally got primer and paint for the kids’ rooms and new screens for all the windows. Now, I just need to do the work. I did just paint and reupholster DD’s vanity though. I’m an awful painter.

Fabric closeup

Small before shot. The red “cushion” is actually a sham I covered the fugly seat with.

departure…my mom left on Friday. I’m happy and sad, I’m sure we all know how that goes, heh.

I’m wearing the new, slightly tarty dress in this photo.

Thursday June 21, 2007

A few weeks back, I saw a short piece on the news about the state of children’s healthcare, specifically Medicaid, in Texas. It was quite timely as I had just decided not to go ahead with applying for my own children, specifically ZB. We have private health insurance, but between what we pay for coverage each month and the copays for ZB’s medicines and doctor’s visits, I just can’t afford it. In the end, I finally decided to apply b/c my child’s health is more important than my pride. I had an appointment over the phone and the caseworker ended up asking for lots of pieces of paper, some quite irrelevant IMO. For instance, if I have a letter of termination of DH’s previous employer…why would I need his last four pay stubs from said employer… . And the thing is, the day I went to turn in the application at the office (the most depressing place I think I’ve ever been), I brought along most of what they would need (birth certificates, social security cards, etc) and the person in charge of collecting the applications told me to hold on to it all. Guess what the caseworker asked for? Pretty much everything I had that day at the office. Anyway, she asked for some things that would be impossible for me to get, so I just decided, eh, screw it, I’ll find another way. Lo and behold, I got a letter in the mail last week telling me that DS is eligible for CHIP and exempt from the 90 day waiting period meaning he will have coverage starting July 1st! What a blessing. If you read the article linked above, you’ll see that some families have not been as lucky, one mother even losing her child while trying to sort out his coverage. :(

Happy Birthday…

Jennie!

A flower…

for my grandmother. She received a British Empire Medal for her contribution to St. Lucian culture during a ceremony for the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Girlie picked this a biscuit (hibiscus) while out walking with Grandma.

Happy Father’s Day…

One of many homemade treats for DH today.

Bullets…hooray!

  • The kids are having a great time with Grandma….
  • Who is driving me just a little bit crazier every day in that way that mothers can do only to daughters…
  • We saw Surf’s Up…
  • And the kids have gone bike riding with her…
  • And made biscuits with her…
  • And gone on walks with her…
  • She hasn’t learned to twirl like a ballerina yet…
  • But we did go shopping…
  • She won’t sit down. I keep telling her this is vacation.
  • She still won’t stop doing DH’s laundry and it’s driving both of us mad.
  • Long time readers know I’m damn particular about my laundry.
  • We’re at odds over this party that’s supposed to happen next week for ZB. She wants to have one - I don’t.
  • My back hurts from all the running and going.
  • OK, I must go. Taking her highness to Target b/c she just can’t sit down and hang out and do nothing for one. single. minute.

Get ready, Grandma!

Grandma and the kiddos last December

The kids made a list of things they want to do with my mom who arrives this afternoon…

I want to teach her to spin like a ballerina.
I want to help her make scones and biscuits.
I want to help her make dinner.
I want to go bike riding with her.
I want to go on walks with her.
I want to go to the beach with her.
I want to go shopping with her.
I want to watch at least one really good movie with her.

OK, those last two are for me, haha!

One more thing…and I’ll stop.

Bebe won a raffle prize at the library summer reading club thingie! He won a t-shirt which we’ll pick up when we go to the library tonight.

Rant into Rave…

A woman said to me today: “Fuck you!” That was in reponse to my telling her she need not get snippy. The reason she got snippy? She knowingly blocked me in to a parking space and I called her on it. I was so enraged but instead of letting it take me in a bad direction, I threw all that anger to the opposite end of the spectrum. At the next place I went to (Target), I was uber polite to everyone I ran into. And you know what? It felt good! Take that crazyblockerin lady!

ETA: Girlie was with me at the time. She didn’t hear, but I did say “How Rude!” a la Stephanie Tanner when I got back into the car, so for the rest of the time, she kept pointing out people who weren’t rude! “She’s not rude mommy. They weren’t rude!” Etc, etc.
